VEGAN CERAMIDE SKIN SUPPORT* (PLANT DERIVED CERAMIDES)

Deva Nutrition is proud to introduce its plant derived ceramide (phytoceramide) skin support supplement.

Our skin consists of few layers of tissue, one of which is called "stratum corneum". This is the layer of the skin where intercellular lipids are present and they play an important role in water retention, thus keeping our skin moist and hydrated. Ceramides are the main component of this intercellular lipid layer. With the help of the ceramides, our skin forms a barrier which protects it from exogeneous factors and prevents water loss.*

Until recently, ceramides have been popularly used in topical creams and lotions for dry skin, but it appears topical application's effect is temporary. Therefore, many researchers conducted studies on orally taken ceramide in the form of liquid or tablet (pill)*

In a recent study conducted by several researchers, it was reported that orally given ceramide for 1 month and 3 months to healthy human individuals helped improve skin roughness on the majority of participants. Those with positive experience saw a decrease in water loss from the skin and an improvement in skin barrier function.2 Similar preclinical study conducted in 2000 also suggested that supplemental ceramides may play an important role in the maintenance of barrier function of the skin.3*

One study also suggested that dryness of the skin in humans can be due to impaired metabolism of ceramides.4

Studies show that amounts of 1 mg to 2 mg of ceramide supplementation per day may typically be enough to help promote skin health and function especially in relation to retaining moisture. Deva Ceramide skin support contains 1 mg of ceramide from sweet potato powder per tablet*

Our Vegan Ceramide product is perfect for anyone desiring extra nutritional support * DEVA Vegan Ceramide is 100% vegan, vegetarian and is certified by the Vegan Society, the non-profit organization that actually invented the word "vegan".
