Coconut Oil is a very popular oil commonly used in dietary supplements, cosmetics and for cooking. Research suggests that Coconut Oil gets most of its health benefits from its fatty acid concentration. In particular the medium chain triglycerides (aka MCT) is thought to carry much of the health benefits in Coconut Oil.
